Oxbow Books is committed to the publication of high quality, academic books and we are able to offer a flexible service for print, eBook and open access (OA) titles. Open access allows you to share your research freely, without restriction, and content may be shared and re-used (with appropriate accreditation); you retain copyright in your research.
We can offer Gold Standard* and Green Standard** OA options. Books will be published with a Creative Commons License with a digital version of the book available for download. Usually, Oxbow will also produce standard print copies to be sold and marketed alongside all our other non-OA titles.
Titles may be published OA immediately on publication or after an agreed embargo period, on payment of the appropriate fee. Many research funders and institutions provide funding for OA fees and authors should check before requesting an OA option with us. Our charges cover costs such as editorial work, production, marketing and hosting services, presenting the same level of editorial and design quality in both print and online.

- Archiving of content with PORTICO
Our OA fees vary according to the length of the book and whether you choose an immediate or delayed OA option. Our current fees (£) are:
