Soultana Maria Valamoti

Soultana Maria (Tania) Valamoti is Associate Professor in Prehistoric Archaeology at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece. Her main research interests focus on Archaeobotany, plant food remains in particular. She enjoys cooking for her family, friends and the wider public using ingredients available in prehistoric times that are still grown by small-scale farmers in Europe. Since April 2016 she is leading the ERC funded project PLANTCULT (GA 682529) with the ambitious aim to explore Europe's prehistoric culinary identities by deciphering plant-based recipes and associated food technologies.
