Leonardo da Vinci’s Earlier Mona Lisa

The catalog of the exhibition held from 24 November 2023 to 26 May 2024 in Turin is dedicated to the Mona Lisa of Isleworth, also known as the First Mona Lisa, a painting attributed to Leonardo da Vinci and considered an earlier version of the famous masterpiece exhibited at the Louvre. Long believed to be a copy made in the late 16th century, the portrait was then subjected to numerous scientific studies and comparative tests which would confirm Leonardo’s authorship and place the work between 1503 and 1506.
