La Torre del Gallo

Located in Florence, on the hill of Arcetri, the Torre del Gallo takes its name from an ancient Ghibelline family. Considered to be the astronomical observatory of Galileo Galilei on the basis of a deep-rooted popular legend, in the nineteenth century the building became a place dedicated to the memory of the illustrious scientist. The book retraces the history and architectural events of this ancient residence.
